“Ofelia Owl” is my latest embroidery pattern. Owls are an important symbol in my family. My father in law collected them for more than 30 years. As time went by daughters started collecting them too. In many different cultures, the owl symbolizes wisdom, intelligence, mysticism, and protection. Among Native Americans it is invoke as an oracle of secret knowledge. As you can see, it isn't hard to get inspired by this mythical character.
When I first posted about this pattern it didn't have a name. Well, Ofelia is the name of one of my girls. She has her own "owly" traits. She's most of the time quiet and observant. The girls themselves offered the name as an option.
