First of all, thank you for all your comments mostly on Facebook and Twitter and Flickr about my WW tutorial and fabric requirements posts! I love to share and your feedback makes it even better.
As busy as I am, I'm still trying to steal a moment to stitch. In the past weeks, I've been picking up some cross stitching. This is my first time so my stitching is way less than perfect, and there was lots of unpicking to do. The pattern is by Glory Bee Stitch, and I worked it out with some help from my Twitter friends. And since I don't know much of it:
- I didn't start in the middle as it's supposed to be.
- I had no clue as how to know much aida I'd need, and I drag the whole piece of aida around.
- I didn't follow the colors in the pattern…
- When working on rows that required two colors I decided to thread two different needles, and I changed colors as needed. It worked for me but I'm sure there is a better way to do it...
The fabric size issue was fixable, and this is the final product. It's a tiny 5" hoop!! Did you notices the "B"? In the end I wasn't sure about its color so I decided to change it to a deep purple, and I liked it better.
I changed the hoop, centered the embroidery, backed it with a nice piece of white flannel, and added a bit of ribbon for hanging purposes. I gave this as a present to one of my best friends and I think she liked it.

Primero que nada quiero darles las gracias a todos los que me comentaron a través de Twitter, Facebook y Flickr acerca de mi tutorial y mi post "Números". Me encanta compartir este tipo de posts con todos mis lectores y el leer sus comentarios lo hace aún más especial.
Así de ocupada como estoy, todavía encuentro pequeños momentos para coser un poquito aquí y allá. En las últimas semanas empecé un proyectito de punto de cruz. Esta fué la primera vez que lo intenté así que mis puntadas estuvieron lejos de ser perfectas y tuve que desbaratarlo varias veces. Este es un patrón de Glory Bee Stitch y aprendí mucho de mis amigos en Twitter que me ayudaron en el proceso. Como no sé mucho de bordado en punto de cruz sucedió que:
- No empecé en el medio como debiera ser, y traje la tela entera conmigo porque no sabía cuanto cortar.
- No seguí los colores del patrón...
- Enhebré dos agujas con hilos de colores diferentes para trabajar en las líneas que tenía dos colores y las usé dependiendo del color con el que me tocaba bordar. Me funcionó el truco pero seguro que hay mejores maneras de hacer esto.
El problema del tamaño de la tela fué resuelto y este es el bordado terminado. Es chiquitot, en un aro de 5"!! Notaron la "B"? No estuve segura de que me gustaba como se veía, así que la cambié por un morado oscuro y me gustó más.
Le cambié el aro y lo centré con un poco de franela blanca en la parte de atrás. Le puse listón morado para colgarlo y se lo regalé a una amiga muy querida y me parece que le gustó bastante.
