Clamshells pillow/ Cojín de abanicos

I've ben trying to get ahead with this project for over a year now, and I only keep adding clamshells to rip them away again the week after, the rows of shells got all uneven, and it started bubbling in some parts. It frustrates me and makes me loose steam with it. It took me forever to realize that it won't grown enough to be not even a lap quilt. It felt bad to just leave it there, unfinished...

He tratado de adelantar con este quilt por más de un año y lo único que hago es agregarle pedazos para depués volverlos a descoser. Las filas de abanicos se me enchuecaban y el quilt se empezaba a levantar del centro. Me frustraba y me hacía perder las ganas de seguir con él. Me tomó un buen de tiempo darme cuenta que este quilt no llegaría a ser nisiquiera un quilt para taparse las piernas y al mismo tiempo me daba pena dejarlo ahí abandonado después de tanto esfuerzo.

I made up my mind and I decided to make it into at least a pillow.I've been thinking of pillows a lot, they're a good option for trying new quilting patterns and for using all those pretty fabric scraps. Besides, I have a huge box full of those IKEA pillows that don't have a cover.

Decidí convertirlo en un cojín. He estado pensando mucho en fundas para cojines últimamente, me parece que son ideales para intentar nuevos bloques de quilting usando todos esos retacitos hermosos que quedan de otros proyectos. Aparte tengo una caja llena de cojines de IKEA que necesitan fundas lindas para ser usados.

I reshaped my Clamshells into a big enough square 22” x 22”. I hand quilted it as I have all the time in the world, and added a denim backing to it and a bias tape for frame the whole thing; otherwise I get the feeling the shells are going to start falling apart, visually speaking. Not bad for a failed project, huh?

Cosí mis abanicos formando un cuadrado grande de 22” x 22”, lo acolché a mano como aquella que le sobra el tiempo, le agregué la parte de atrás de mezclilla y le puse un biés en todo el rededor como para no sentir que se me iban a caer los abanicos... visualmente ;) Nada mal para un proyecto frustrado, eh?
