Three Kitchen Fairies

Blast Off !!!

My Birthday was such a fun day, the girls and Jose really made me feel special. The cup cakes were really good, egg free, dairy free, and low fat, believe it or not they were yummy !!!

To my surprise, we kept celebrating like for three days with breakfast in bed, presents, cards, and to make things better I got a new lap top. Don't ask me what kind. I just know it's a red Dell lap top www.dell.com, that has the (red) sign which means that we  some how collaborated in a good cause in Africa (AIDS I think), by buying this computer. Yippee, I like good causes !!

Last weekend, we finally launched our little store www.threekitchenfairies.com. I want to thank my friends who attended our little reunion. I can not fail to thank the people behind this effort. Jose of course, Silvina, and last but not least my fairies, who worked from little cards to invite people to our site, to modeling some of the sets I made.

This week I'm back to do more stuff for the summer with my girls. Clara is absolutely into sewing puppets, and my other little ones, just jump from one activity to another. We have to start picking some vegetables from our "victory garden" as Clara calls it.

Happy Birthday to me !!!

Today is my birthday, and I'm having such a fun day. Jose is not here, he is on his way back from Florida. He'll be here tonight to take us out for dinner. Still the kitchen fairies are giving me a great birthday. They asked me to hang our birthday banner, and to make another one with fancy letters and cut out paper with different shapes, and they even made me drive to the party store and they picked out balloons for me. We still have to bake cupcakes this afternoon.

They make me feel like a  girl with her little girl friends.

Birthdays were not a big deal when I was little, but it seems that as I grew older there is more and more to celebrate. At the same time, I feel that I have learned to ask for less, and to give more. I have learned that maybe I don't have a lot of friends, but the few I have right now, in my daily life, are a treasure to me. And the ones that I met in the past are still there, happy to keep in touch no matter how long its been since we last saw each other.

I realize I have so much to create that I have literally stopped moaning about what I don't have, and what a haven't done, to start a creative process. I don't even check my weight anymore !! I pray more, I eat less. I still like to have a drink or two on the weekends.

In a nut shell: I'm happy, so happy.

Finally.

I'm finally done with all the stuff for our debut as a store, and for our party this coming Saturday.

This is my last set of skirt and blouse...I really enjoyed doing this for the last month but the last two days I felt like I was not going to make it. I guess it was just me.

My girls are doing OK, but a get the feeling that Ofelia doesn't like me "working." She asks me if I'm tired, or if I want to take a nap with her. Which is absolutely relaxing...but I just reassure her that I'm OK, and so happy that we are on summer vacation. The truth: I'm exhausted!! Besides sewing I also take my girls somewhere everyday. Last week we went to...the playground, the library, the pool, the play area, and cherry picking. We also practice violin every day, reading and writing most days. They are also involved in any activity going on in the house, laundry, cooking, grocery shopping, and it takes a lot of my energy and patience. It seems that they are "attached" to me, and we like it that way. Still I'm exhausted.

My "littlest best friend," as she self-proclaims, asked me for the blouse she is wearing. By the way, my birthday is on Friday. I'll be 34.

I think I can- I think I can- I think I can...

Since the last few months my friend Silvina has been encouraging me to start a small enterprise. Nothing big, just and outlet for my creatvity and the little things I do in my spare time, such as my skirt and t-shirt sets from my last post (just scroll down,) and to make money for shoes, sorry mami... When I told Jose, he gave me all his support. He re-learned programing stuff, he looked over for everything I wanted in this blog. He never ever turned me down with anything, and there were things that took him days to figure out. By the way this guy has a day job too, and as many other dads he also spends time with his children. This is my guy. Thank you Papi !!!  I've been sewing most nights for the last two months, planing, thinking about the pros and the cons. And here we are, my friend is hosting a party for me to present my work to my collegue moms, and to launch our little e-businness "Three Kitchen Fairies"-the store. So all this will happen in two weeks!!! I really have the drive, the energy , and the hope that it will turn out just right. I feel like the litlle blue train in "The little engine that could."

Where was I??? Oh, yes I think I can-I think I can- Ithink I can...This is a book about a little blue engine that was able to pull a train all the way to town right after the toys in the train ask for help to the big freight train, and the passenger train who denied their help. And this happens sometimes.. you know? So I'm beeng a mother of three (kitchen fairies) trying to start a small businnes. ahhhh!! My to do list seems endless but I have achived some things: I sent invitations.

We worked hard yesterday. And with a combination of work and summer fun we'll get there for the debut of our little store. So all my in real life friends and guests I hope to see you there, and blogland people I'll give you the details as the day comes         closer.  Wish me luck...

Free to go...

It seems to me that everything is working just fine around here. The girls are happy, playing with each other, and making little camp-outs of toys here and there. We have Barbie's in the family room, a mini tent in the basement, play foam in the kitchen... I just love it this way. So this is when I'm "free to go..." to my own stuff. I took some pictures of what I'm being working on for the past weeks. Since girls fashions have change so much into more of a "women's fashion made girls size," I decided to make my girls some fun play clothes to wear, nothing fancy just "fun play cloths." So this is being a game of mix and match t-shirt, fabric one, fabric two, and ribbons. I'm having so much fun. 

As you can see, I'm still having trouble up loading my pictures in a more decent size...we'll get there.

I'm really happy with the results but still, I try to chase my girls a little to play or at least to hold them and kiss them. It feels weird, that they don't need me as much as before.

Well, that's all for today, I'm still learning to use this thing. This is my first post by my self. So be patient with me, I got tons of work to show...

Testing; testing

Hello Moms, artists, crafters, quilters, fun people, etc. My name is Paloma, and this is my first post in my brand new blog space "Three Kitchen Fairies." I'm an artist in waking up from a stand by of eight years aprox. by reason of motherhood. I became aware of this world two years ago. My friends and my loving husband encouraged me to do this, so let's see.

Now i'm going to try to learn how to post  with pictures and everything...
