Looking through my many little notebooks, I found a little sketch from May of last year. It was an idea for a paper piecing owl that simply couldn't get done last year. This week, the making of the owl paper piecing pattern was my crafty goal. I started by tracing and playing with graph paper; I had to re-draw the pattern a couple of times. There were a few episodes of sewing and reaping until I finally got my owl done!
Collecting owls became an important part of our family tradition. My father in law collected owl nick nacks for so many years that he ended up with a few hundreds of them. He's no longer among us, but every time we find an owl, we add it our family collection in his memory.
And just because sharing is fun, here is my pattern for you: Download Owl PDF
