Sewing and reaping, sewing and reaping, that's what I've been doing for the last two days. I can tell you at this point I don't want to see one more pin. My blocks kept being uneven, and far from being a square. I joined this Single Girl quilt along and as much as I wanted to keep at their pace I couldn't. They are already in the hand quilting part!! and I'm about to put my twelve gigant blocks together, hopefully today. But let me tell you that I love how my quilt is turning out. I'm trying to be more adventurous with my background color. I already have two white background quilts (one is still a quilt top) so why not try with some dark colours. As much as I love and wanted to use Kona Solids for the background, I couldn't find one that better suited my already made rings. When I first started choosing my ring fabrics I was planning on using an aqua color for my background. I look everywhere I even reached out to my quilting store asking them for the color catalogue from Kona, and tried to choose a color from there. I gave up and ended up at my local Joann's and ended up buying "Quilter Only Solids." To tell you the truth I was a bit doubtful about the quality of any other solids besides Kona. But this fabric turned out to handle very well all the sewing and reaping I had gone through. It's not as blue as it looks in the picture. In real life, it's more purple-ish, and it goes by the name of "China Blue. "
Gorgeous!

Sewing and ripping out stitches is no fun. I like the bold colors!
